Taco Crescent Rings

There were some of the toppings I put next to the Taco Ring. :)

Ingredients:
  • lb ground beef
  • package (1 oz) Old El Paso™ taco seasoning mix
  • cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz)
  • cans (8 oz each) Pillsbury™ refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 3/4 cup nacho cheese-flavored tortilla chips, crushed
  • Shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, sliced ripe olives, taco sauce or salsa, as desired

Directions:

  • Heat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Cook ground beef till no longer pink and mix with taco seasoning per instructions on packet
  • Mix taco meat and cheese in a bowl
  • Open Crescent rolls and lay out in a ring pattern, points facing away from center. (Dough will overlap)
  • Spoon taco meat mixture in a ring around the center ring. Leave a small lip of dough in the center to allow something to connect to later)
  • Lift the points of the dough over the ring of taco meat, and connect to that lip
  • Brush dough with a little water or melted butter. Then bake 20-35 minutes or until dough is golden brown.
  • Allow 5-10 minutes to cool before serving.

Bacon Bombs

Some are a little more crispy than others.... I seriously need a temperature controlled deep fryer.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (8ct.) Pillsbury Grands Flaky Layers Biscuits
  • Cubed Mozzarella Cheese (1-1″ cube per Bomb)
  • 2 lbs. of Bacon (1 slice per Bomb)
  • Toothpicks
  • Oil for frying (I use canola)

Directions:

  • Cube up the Cheese, and cut each Biscuit into fourths.  Place one piece of Cheese inside a Biscuit quarter, and roll it around the cheese
  • Roll each bomb in bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  • In a pot, heat up about 2" of oil to about 350 degrees, and fry up small batches of the bacon bombs
  • Drain on Paper towel, and serve warm. :)

Bacon Wrapped Weenies

All of the bacon! They were delicious and gone in a matter of minuted!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pkg bacon {any brand...I use Bar S}
  • 2 pkgs Lil' Beef Smokies
  • Butter
  • Brown Sugar

Directions:

  • Cut the bacon into fourths, (I cut a whole piece of bacon vertically…right down the middle… and then I cut those halves horizontally), and wrap it around the lil beef smokies.
  • You wanna make sure your baking sheet has edges because there's a lot of mess goin' on with this recipe.  Take about a half stick of butter and melt in microwave.  Pour evenly over the weenies.
  • Take 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar and put on top of each weenie.
  • Bake on 375 for about 45 minutes or until the bacon is cooked.
Magic Meatballs

Always a good hit to have at a gathering. So easy and so yummy. :)

Ingredients:
  • Frozen meatballs (I get Italian seasoned)
  • Grape Jelly
  • Ketchup
  • Toothpicks (optional)
Directions
  • Empty all the grape jelly into a pan or crock pot; set empty jelly jar aside.
  • Once the grape jelly is all melted, fill the jelly jar with ketchup and poor into the grape jelly syrup. Mix together
  • Add meatballs and mix around to ensure even coating.
  • Put some toothpicks nearby so people can eat and enjoy!

December 14, 2014

This is something that I will be making on Wednesday. It's a good dish to make when it's nice and chilly out. I know it's only 68 degrees here in Hawaii, but it's chilly for what it normally is! :)

Baked Ziti

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. dry ziti pasta
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 jars of spaghetti sauce
  • 6 oz. provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 6 oz. mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:

  1. Bring a large pot of slightly salted water to boil. Add ziti pasta, and cook until al dente. (approx. 8 min) Drain.
  2. In a large skillet, brown onion and ground beef over medium heat. Add spaghetti sauce, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees (175 degrees C). Butter a 9x13 baking dish and layer as follows:
    1. 1/2 of the pasta
    2. Provolone Cheese
    3. Sour Cream
    4. 1/2 Sauce Mixture (I use a little bit less than half, so that I have enough to cover the top.
    5. Remaining ziti
    6. Mozzarella cheese
    7. Remaining sauce mixture.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes or until the cheese is all melted and delicious.
I promise to post a picture of what every step looks like the next time I make it! :) So keep an eye out!
